What is a hackathon?"

A hackathon is an event that fosters innovation and collaboration with the goal of expanding technology development. An AgriTech Hackathon is an event that identifies current challenges in the agricultural industry and for which tech solutions are proposed. Over 24, 48 hour periods or however long the hub decides to host the hackathon, multiple teams are asked to "hack" probable solutions to a series of given challenges for the agriculture and eco-tourism sectors.

  • Who can participate?
  • Individuals or teams of people from any background, age, and gender with an idea or innovation related to the topic or theme being addressed in the hackathon.
  • Outcomes
  • 1. To identify and nurture innovations in the domains of agriculture.
    2. To identify innovations having applications in the rural sector which can provide value proposition addressing the key challenges.
    3. For sponsors or investors to identify innovations they see economic potential in and invest in them.

Resident Mentors

Hackathon mentors are individuals with knowledge and skills in hardware & software development, computer science, agriculture and ecotourism.
